How to grow azaleas well? A detailed guide to cultivation methods
Any friend familiar with flowers and plants knows that the azalea is one of China's ten traditional famous flowers, with extremely high ornamental value, and it has always held an extremely high position in the world of flowers and plants. Moreover, there are a great many friends who love growing azaleas in pots, but the azalea is also a flower that is relatively difficult to cultivate, and it must never be treated carelessly in daily management. So, how do you grow azaleas well?

When growing azaleas, we need to prepare a suitable flowerpot for them, and the specification and size of the flowerpot often need to be determined according to the size of the plant's shape. The texture of the flowerpot also needs to be chosen scientifically, and generally a clay tile pot with good permeability is preferable. After selecting the flowerpot, the next thing to do is to reasonably mix the potting soil for them.
For the potting soil used for growing azaleas in pots, it is recommended to use leaf mold, river sand soil and garden soil, mixed and stirred evenly in a ratio of 3:3:4 before use. And to grow azaleas well, we need to provide them with a comfortable growing environment. Generally, a semi-shaded environment with good ventilation conditions and suitable ambient temperature and humidity is required.
The most suitable growing temperature for azaleas is around 20°C, and we only need to keep the ambient temperature at this level. But watering and fertilizing are also key to growing azaleas well, because azaleas bloom abundantly and in large numbers, requiring a large amount of nutrients and water, so water and fertilizer management must keep up.
During ordinary care and management, we need to grasp the basic principles of watering and fertilizing azaleas. For watering, generally just follow the principle of “water when dry, stop when wet”, and for water and fertilizer, generally just follow the principle of “light fertilizer applied frequently”.
