Dendrobium orchids have very beautiful flowers and are a flowering plant that many gardening friends like to grow in pots. Whenever the potted Dendrobium orchid flowering season comes around, everyone tends to care for them very carefully. Not only that, even in everyday care and management, nothing can be done sloppily, mainly in order to wait for that moment when it blooms beautifully.

But sometimes before the Dendrobium orchid even sends up its flower spikes, many people are already burning with impatience. Actually, we really do not need to pamper it and spoil it like that, because sometimes when we deliberately give it a bit of "hardship" and a bit of "tough love," it is actually good for its growth and flowering. However, our artificial "hardship" and "tough love" means cooling it down in time and letting it feel a bit of cold. So, how do you grow Dendrobium orchids so they bloom better?

Everyone knows that for many flowering plants, in order to improve bloom quality, increase the number of flowers, and extend the flowering period, it is often necessary to adjust the temperature appropriately for them. And after a plant goes through a relatively large temperature difference, it can bloom even better. For Dendrobium orchids, this method is also suitable. That is, put it in the refrigerator to chill at night, with the temperature set at around 13°C, then take it out during the day for normal care.

In this process, it is more appropriate to maintain a temperature difference of about 15°C between day and night. As long as we keep this up for a period of time, Dendrobium orchids will not only produce high-quality flowers, but also more flowers. Moreover, after being stimulated by the temperature difference, the Dendrobium orchid will quickly send up a large number of flower spikes.

But before flowering, including when the flower stalks are growing, we should apply enough phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, because flowering needs a large amount of nutrients as support, especially for producing numerous high-quality flowers, which requires sufficient nutrients to be prepared in advance. Take potassium dihydrogen phosphate as an example; this is a very good flowering-promoting fertilizer, and its flowering-inducing effect is very obvious. Just use it twice a month. This is very good for promoting the growth and flowering of Dendrobium orchids. It can be seen that if you want Dendrobium orchids to bloom better, temperature difference is very important.

But what we need to note is that when it is flowering, we should immediately stop applying fertilizer. Also, Dendrobium orchids quite like a humid growing environment and have relatively poor drought tolerance, so in addition to normal watering, we should also spray water more often to maintain air humidity. This can prevent their leaves from turning yellow, and it also has a certain promoting effect on the plant's flowering.
