The snake plant (Sansevieria) is a common household potted foliage plant. Although it is relatively easy to keep alive, many beginners still run into plenty of problems. Among them, root rot and yellow leaves are the most common. So what is going on when a snake plant develops root rot and yellow leaves? Experienced growers know that when flowering plants develop root rot and yellow leaves, it is generally caused by using too much water and fertilizer.

1. Do not place it next to a radiator

When growing a snake plant in a pot at home, never place the pot next to a radiator, because that will cause the temperature around the plant to be too high, making the snake plant lose water too quickly, which causes dehydration and leads to yellowing, or even death. You only need to place it in an indoor environment for care and provide room-temperature conditions.

2. Do not place it in the bathroom

Do not normally place the snake plant in the bathroom. After all, the bathroom is a small space but often has high humidity, and if it stays there too long, the plant is fairly prone to root rot and yellow leaves. In general, placing the potted snake plant in a relatively dry, well-ventilated space for care is more suitable for the plant's growth.

3. Do not place it in the kitchen

Since the kitchen is where food is stir-fried and meals are cooked, it is bound to be full of cooking fumes, and cooking fumes have a fairly big impact on the growth of the snake plant; over time they will also cause many poor-growth symptoms in the plant. Therefore, the kitchen is not suitable for placing a potted snake plant; instead, you should choose a ventilated, sunny spot for care.

The above three places are locations in the home that are not suitable for placing potted plants, otherwise they will have adverse effects on the normal growth of the plant and may even cause death, so we need to rule them out or avoid them. It can be seen that placement location is also crucial to the growth of a potted snake plant.
