Snake plant, also known as mother-in-law's tongue (Sansevieria), is a perennial evergreen plant. Because of its graceful plant shape and beautiful leaves, it is very suitable for growing as a foliage potted plant. Although snake plant is easy to keep alive, keeping it well is rather difficult, and requires us to master certain care techniques.

During the growing season, snake plant usually sends up quite a few new shoots and new leaves, and it is precisely the growing season that is more suitable for viewing. So, how do you grow snake plant so it sprouts more? To get snake plant to burst out with lots of new shoots, the editor recommends a few care methods for everyone.

1. Use peanut shells and sunflower seed shells to grow snake plant

Peanut shells and sunflower seed shells contain a large amount of phosphorus and potassium, and especially once they have fermented and decomposed, they can provide the plant with abundant phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. Moreover, using peanut shells and sunflower seed shells in the flower pot can also improve the soil and increase the looseness and air permeability of the potting soil. Therefore, they are very suitable for growing snake plant.

We can first collect the peanut shells and sunflower seed shells, then put them into a transparent container and leave it in the sun for a week. After that, take them out, crush them, and spread them directly on the surface of the potting soil. In winter they can keep the soil warm, and in summer they can provide shade. And as you water, the nutrients in the shells are carried into the potting soil for the plant to absorb.

Of course, we can also put them into a plastic bag, sprinkle in some insecticide and seal it well. Then store it in a warm and ventilated place, and after about 3 months it will ferment and decompose, after which you can take it out and apply it as flower fertilizer to the snake plant.

2. Use aspirin to grow snake plant

If the snake plant in your home struggles to sprout shoots and grow new leaves, we can use aspirin to change this situation. This is mainly because aspirin is rich in salicylic acid, and salicylic acid has the effect of promoting plant rooting, sprouting and growth. Using it to stimulate the plant to sprout quickly and produce many shoots has a very obvious effect.

First we crush the aspirin, then dissolve and dilute it with water at a ratio of 1:500, then directly pour the solution onto the snake plant. You can water with it about once a month, and within 2 months the plant will sprout new shoots vigorously, and in great numbers.
