How can hydroponic lucky bamboo be made to root quickly?
Household lucky bamboo is very suitable for hydroponics. Although its growth rate and vigor are not as good as soil-cultured lucky bamboo, as long as we master certain methods, we can also make it root quickly and grow vigorously. The biggest initial problem with hydroponic lucky bamboo is solving the rooting problem, so how can hydroponic lucky bamboo root quickly?

For hydroponic lucky bamboo, the plant must be given the necessary treatment. First, according to the height of the plant and the container, cut the overly long stem short at a suitable position, and cut the lower cut end into a slanted surface, preferably at a 45° angle. If necessary, you can also apply some rooting agent to the cut surface of the wound, or do a waxing treatment to avoid infection caused by pathogens entering and causing stem rot.
However, we can also use willow branch liquid instead of rooting water, because willow branch liquid is rich in salicylic acid, and this substance is very effective in promoting the rapid rooting of lucky bamboo. Then just add a little willow branch liquid to the water for growing lucky bamboo.
If the plant has relatively many leaves, be sure to cut off the leaves on the middle and lower parts of the plant, and be careful to keep the sheath; there is no need to peel off the outer skin wrapped around the plant as well. At the same time, only 3-4 leaves at the top of the plant need to be kept, which can avoid excessive consumption of the plant's nutrients due to too many leaves, since the plant currently has no root system and cannot provide nutrients normally.
Hydroponic lucky bamboo has certain requirements for water quality, and the original recommendation is to use mineral water or purified water. But for many households, tap water is often easier to obtain and also economical. However, before use, be sure to release the tap water in advance and let it sit for a few days, so that the bleaching powder in it settles and the chlorine fully volatilizes. Then filter out the clean tap water before use.
Next, we also need to shade the base of the lucky bamboo, which can better promote its rooting. You can use a black cloth bag to cover the transparent glass container holding the lucky bamboo, and then insert the treated base of the lucky bamboo plant into the container.
Finally, we choose a suitable placement environment for the hydroponic lucky bamboo. The environment should be warm and semi-shaded, such as a corner of the living room, a corner of an indoor balcony, and so on. Note that during the rooting period, do not change the water; if the water level drops, add new water in time. After rooting, remove the cloth bag and change the water regularly.
