What are the precautions for changing the water of hydroponic lucky bamboo?
Hydroponic lucky bamboo not only makes the environment look clean and tidy, but is also very easy to care for, generally requiring only a change of water. However, when changing the water, we also need to master certain techniques and not do it blindly, otherwise it may have a negative impact on the plant's growth. So, what are the precautions for changing the water of hydroponic lucky bamboo?

Changing the water is very important for hydroponic plants and is also a necessary routine maintenance task. Whether the method of changing the water is scientific and reasonable will have a direct impact on the plant's growth. Therefore, we need to grasp the precautions involved when changing the water.
1. The new water source used when changing the water must be clean in quality
When changing the water for lucky bamboo, be sure to ensure the water is clean and free of salt if possible. For household hydroponic lucky bamboo, it is generally recommended to use boiled water or purified water, as this water quality is usually better. Never use tap water directly, because freshly drawn tap water generally contains chlorine, a substance that is harmful and of no benefit to plant growth.
2. Do not change the water too frequently, and do not replace it all at once
Regularly changing the water for hydroponic lucky bamboo is a necessary routine task, but when changing the water, it is not recommended to replace all the water in the container at once and then add fresh water, unless the water quality in the container has been compromised or infected with pathogens. Generally, changing half the water is enough; when too much time has passed and there is sediment at the bottom of the container or sticky residue on the inner walls, then replace it all.
Do not replace all the water. The original reason is mainly that the original water contains a kind of bacterial film that can effectively protect the water quality, purify the water body, and is more conducive to the growth of lucky bamboo roots. If all the water is replaced, this bacterial film will also be poured out along with it, so changing the water too frequently and too thoroughly is instead not conducive to maintaining clean water quality, making it more prone to infection by harmful bacteria, which is unfavorable for the growth of lucky bamboo.
Moreover, when changing the water, generally keep to changing it once every 7-10 days. Normally, after the water level drops, simply add new water up to the required water level. At the same time, in order to add nutrients to the water, when changing the water you can also drip in a few drops of nutrient solution, so that the plant has sufficient nutrients to maintain growth and also avoids yellow leaves caused by nutrient deficiency.
