Everyone knows that the ideal temperature for zinnia seeds to sprout is between 20-25°C, and under normal conditions they will sprout 1 week after sowing. To verify this process, we are sharing a zinnia planting diary so we can all witness it together.

Zinnias are usually sown in spring and summer, but the sowing process below was carried out in autumn. Although it is somewhat difficult, it is still worth a try.

Sowing process:

1. On October 27, the zinnia seeds that had been pre-sprouted on the 25th had already begun to show white roots emerging; then I found a few empty yogurt cups, and after washing them and making holes in the bottom, I planted the pre-sprouted seeds.

2. On November 2, of the 3 seeds sown, 2 survived, while the other one failed because the embryo was accidentally knocked off while removing the shell. The two surviving seeds had already grown into seedlings, and their growth condition did not look very ideal either.

3. In the end, only this one plant survived after growing multiple true leaves. It still looks very thin, long, and fragile, but it cannot be repotted now. To be safe, I will not repot it for the time being. If I accidentally kill this one too, then it will be a complete failure.

4. Because a cosmos seed was accidentally sown at the same time earlier, it suddenly grew up next to the only surviving zinnia. Should I pull out this cosmos? What a dilemma!

5. After a few more days, the plant now appears to be gradually improving. But the weather is getting colder and colder, and the seedlings are all growing very slowly. Just wait patiently!
