Today I want to talk about the pottery potting and daily maintenance and management of the golden marble bonsai, which is popular on the market. The golden marble is called "bottle orchid" because its milky white flowers look like a bottle, just like an orchid. Its oval fruit is orange-red when ripe and does not wither in winter; the fruit harvest period lasts until the Spring Festival, and it is one of the traditional fruit trees. According to its growth, the golden marble bonsai is repotted every 2-3 years.

First, the timing of changing the pot. The golden marble bonsai is often repotted before the spring buds appear.

Very good, prepare for changing the pot. Stop watering 3-5 days before changing the pot to keep the potting soil dry, so that the potting soil separates easily and the plant can be taken out conveniently. The golden marble is suited to fertile, well-drained sandy loam. It is made up of 8 parts humus soil and 2 parts river sand, used to prepare a loose, fertile, breathable, well-drained neutral to slightly acidic soil. After being exposed to sunlight and high temperature, it is kept. If the original pot is too small, prepare a larger pot for use. If the old pot is cleaned and disinfected, and if it is an unused new pot, soak it for 2 days, then wash it clean.

Third, repot and plant. Gently take the golden marble out of the old pot, and use bamboo or bamboo chopsticks to remove 1/3-1/2 of the old soil. Carefully check the root system, and cut off dead roots, diseased and pest-damaged roots, severely damaged roots, old roots, rhizome roots and long roots. At the same time, combine with shaping to trim the crown appropriately. First fill the bottom of the pot with a layer of coarse sand for drainage, apply an appropriate amount of fully fermented organic fertilizer and animal manure, cover with a layer of newly prepared potting soil, and then place the golden marble plant according to the design. Put it in a suitable posture. A suitable position in the pot. The root system should not come into direct contact with the base fertilizer. Then fill with soil; the potting soil should be loose and moderate, and water thoroughly at the end.

Fourth, slow the seedlings. Place the potted golden marble bonsai in a shaded area for about 10 days, then move it to a semi-shaded state for three to five days, and finally place it in a sunny place for maintenance.

Fifth, maintenance and management. The golden marble likes a warm and humid environment, loves light, tolerates partial shade, and is not drought-tolerant. Usually place it in a ventilated and transparent place, and shade it appropriately in summer. Watering is usually done during the growth period. The potting soil should not be dry, but there should be no water accumulation. When it is dry at high temperatures, spray water regularly. Fertilization is mainly based on thin liquid fertilizer, adhere to "lean fertilization", increase the amount of phosphate fertilizer in summer and autumn, and promote flowering and fruiting. Shape pruning is mainly before spring sprouting, cutting off dense, weak, pest-damaged, dead and messy branches; according to the needs of the shape, the branches are tied with wire and brown rope. In addition, most golden marbles are dioecious, occasionally male and female, so pay attention to pollination issues.
