Do you know the magnolia? This flower originated in our country. It is an important ornamental tree in the south. Magnolias can be seen in many family courtyards, and the magnolia is also the city flower of Shanghai. Magnolia has medicinal properties, can treat many diseases, and can also be made into tea! Let's take a look at magnolia cultivation methods, and we hope this will be helpful to everyone!

1. Potting soil: Household potted white magnolias (Michelia alba) should be planted in loose, breathable soil rich in humus. They are usually grown in well-ventilated ceramic pots, purple clay pots, or plastic pots with plenty of drainage holes at the bottom. The soil in the pot is best if it contains a certain amount of granular soil of varying sizes, to facilitate drainage and ventilation.

2. Repotting: According to the size and age of the white magnolia, choose a pot of appropriate size to benefit plant growth. When repotting, wait until the pot has dried slightly, slowly tilt the pot or turn it upside down, hold the pot with one hand, grasp the plant with the other, and transfer the white magnolia into the new pot. Before changing to a new pot, put a small amount of loose soil and base fertilizer inside, then pour in water and plant it firmly.

3. Pruning: For potted white magnolias, an appropriate height should be chosen, and the terminal buds and short side branches should be pruned away to favor long side branches, so that more flower buds will bloom. Before bringing them indoors, white magnolias should be pruned of dead branches, diseased branches, long branches, and overly dense branches to minimize nutrient consumption. When taking them out of the room, the old leaves on the lower part of the branches can be appropriately removed to promote new branch growth.

4. Fertilizing: White magnolias like heavy feeding, and during the growing season they should be fertilized about once every half month, or given a small amount of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium compound fertilizer, 2-6 grams each time. Fertilizer should gradually soak into the plant's roots, and with each watering, it should not be applied directly to the roots, so as to avoid "burning the roots." Apply dilute fertilizer frequently, fertilize in winter, and do not fertilize in winter. Starting from June after budding, apply fertilizer water every 3-4 days; from July to September, apply fertilizer water every 5-6 days. After applying fertilizer several times, it should be stopped once.

5. Watering: White magnolias are afraid of waterlogging and are not tolerant of drought, so watering should be appropriate. Each watering must soak through, keeping the soil moist, and wait until the soil dries before watering again; do not water every day, and frequently spray water on the leaves and surroundings. White magnolias should be watered once in spring, then every other day; in summer, water in the morning and evening, and frequently spray the ground surface with water; in autumn, water once every 2-3 days; it can be kept slightly moist; after rain, the water should be drained promptly.

6. Temperature: White magnolias are not cold-tolerant. Except in South China, they should be brought indoors in other regions in winter. The lower room temperature should be kept above 5°C, and the time for bringing them indoors should be from Qingming to Guyu. Whether white magnolias can safely overwinter depends on temperature. After entering autumn, they should be moved indoors for maintenance. The temperature should be kept at 5-10°C. When high temperatures are encountered, white magnolias should be cooled appropriately.

7. Lighting. White magnolias need bright light, and in summer they can be placed under a shaded flower shed. In the morning, the curtains can be opened to let them receive sunlight. After 9 o'clock, they need to be covered to avoid glare. In particular, avoid the strong light at noon. Show. After moving white magnolias indoors, they should be placed in a sunny spot.
