Everyone knows larkspur? This is a perennial herbaceous plant, and its flowers are shaped like the wings of a small swallow in flight, very beautiful, so it is named larkspur. Larkspur is native to Europe. Now it is widely planted in our country. It is very suitable for planting in flower beds. Its ornamental value is very high. So how do you grow larkspur? What should I pay attention to during the breeding process? Take a look with the editor.

In hot summer areas, sow in late August, seeds germinate in mid-to-late October and grow 2 to 4 true leaves, transplant to Yangshuo for planting, and plant in March with 4 to 7 true leaves. Next year, it can be planted. It blooms from May to July. If grown in a greenhouse in a hot area, the growth period can be shortened and it can bloom 2 to 3 months earlier.

The specific method is: sow in late August, transplant in mid-to-late September, cultivate after sowing in mid-October, increase temperature and supplement light from December to February, and the flowering period can be as early as March. Apply nitrogen fertilizer before flowering, and phosphorus and potassium fertilizer after flowering, with appropriate watering. After 10 months, increase lighting, which can promote early flowering. When the plant grows to a height of 20 cm, support it with a tall stake and net to prevent lodging.

Note: Larkspur needs a sunny, cool growing environment. It is both cold-resistant and drought-resistant, but not tolerant of high temperature and water, and its soil requirements are not very high. However, several issues need attention when planting:

1 Sowing time. It can be planted in spring and autumn. If planted in autumn, it must be done in mid-September.

2 Protection. After sowing, the soil must be kept moist. The simplest method is to cover it with some grass and gradually remove the covering after emergence.

3 Transplanting. When the larkspur stem grows two true leaves, transplant the soil into a small pot, and replace the pot after the seedlings grow.

4 Watering. Watering should be done by observing dryness and moisture, and more water should be poured during the flowering period to avoid the soil becoming overly dry.

5 Fertilizing. When changing the pot, use dry manure as base fertilizer, then according to growth conditions, apply decomposed cake fertilizer water 1 to 3 times per month.

6 Height control. After changing the pot, use paclobutrazol to control the plant height: apply 0.5% paclobutrazol every 2 weeks.

7 Seed collection. Seeds should be collected in time to prevent the seeds from shattering after maturity.
