What to do if a banyan tree gets spider mites? Pest control methods for houseplants and flowers
Recently, I have seen many flower enthusiasts in discussions suffering from pest problems, which is very troublesome. A large number of spider mites have appeared on the leaves. I don't know how to get rid of them. If you want to destroy them, you need to understand their weaknesses. Today we will help you solve the problem and see how this pest, also known as the red spider mite, can be eliminated.
Pepper water
Mix pepper water by putting a little pepper powder into a bottle, add water to dilute it, and shake the bottle to speed up the release of the pepper's pungency into the water. After fully soaking, strain it into a sprayer and spray it directly on the spider mites. It can be used on the leaves. The pepper used for soaking can be dried chili or fresh chili. This method is the most direct and most effective, but it should be noted that the amount used in this method cannot be too large, and it must be sprayed on a small number of affected plants. After repeated spraying, a significant reduction in spider mites can be seen. Pest control work cannot be too hasty.
Washing bag
The washing bag method is to directly lay the potted plant on one side on the ground. Note that the surface of the pot will be scattered on the ground. This method is more practical. You need to hold a water gun and at the same time hold the leaf blade with spider mites. During washing, spider mites are easily washed out. After washing the plant's leaves, cover the whole plant with a large plastic bag, and use a rope to secure the bag below the flower pot. This increases the living humidity of the whole plant, because leafhoppers cannot reproduce in a humid environment, so such an environment can drive away spider mites. In order to completely eliminate the growth of spider mites, repeat the washing bag method every few days. After several rounds, the elimination effect is very obvious.
Sour milk spray
You can use milk or milk powder at home that cannot be finished. First dilute the degraded milk with water, then shake it evenly. When the wind is very light or there is no wind, spray it directly on the front and back sides of the leaves. Make sure the leaves can remain in a state where water droplets drip from the leaf tips, and because spider mites will eat the sprayed milk water, they will rise and die. This method is more suitable for vegetables. After all, the milk pesticide method is more environmentally friendly, but it is also the slowest method.
Spider mites reproduce fastest in a warm, poorly ventilated environment, so you can control the temperature and ventilation. Once spider mites are found, you can use a strong water gun to spray the front and back sides of the leaves. On the one hand, it is necessary to increase the humidity of the environment. On the other hand, strong water can wash away the remaining spider mite eggs on the leaves. I hope these small methods can help flower enthusiasts successfully eliminate pests.
