When it comes to baby's breath, surely many people are very familiar with it. It is one of the most common flowering plants, and nowadays more and more people like to grow some at home in pots. However, during the care process, all kinds of problems tend to arise, especially when the baby's breath we grow develops wilting leaves, which troubles many people greatly. So how do we solve it? Let me show you below.
What to Do When Baby's Breath Leaves Wilt
Growing plants has never been an easy task, because during our care process, once we care for them improperly, all kinds of problems will arise. So when the baby's breath we grow develops wilting leaves, what should we do? Let's take a look below at how I solve it.
1. Temperature
Baby's breath prefers to grow in a warm environment and is not cold-tolerant. Therefore, if the winter temperature drops below 0°C and we do not take measures to keep it warm, its leaves can easily wilt, and in severe cases it can even die.
Solution: Whether during the high temperatures of summer or the cold of winter, we should definitely move the plant indoors for growing. After all, indoors it is warm in winter and cool in summer, which is best for the plant's care.
2. Light
Baby's breath prefers to grow in an environment with plenty of sunlight. Once light is insufficient, it can easily cause baby's breath to develop wilting, lusterless leaves.
Solution: If the plant's wilting leaves are caused by light, we should definitely move the plant outdoors to grow. Only with more exposure to sunlight will it grow better.
3. Water
When caring for flowering plants, watering is indispensable, but for baby's breath, you must not water too much. Once you water too much and the potting soil becomes soggy, wilting leaves can easily appear.
Solution: Once too much watering causes the plant to develop wilting leaves, we should best move the flowerpot to a place with good ventilation for care, and stop watering. Only after it recovers can we carry out watering management for the plant.
4. Normal Metabolism
If the baby's breath we grow develops yellowing and wilting on its lower leaves, there is actually no need to worry. This is just the plant's normal metabolism. We only need to remove the plant's yellow leaves, then apply a topdressing to the baby's breath, and after some time, the plant will gradually recover!
