How to Grow Peace Lilies and Care Tips to Keep the Leaves from Turning Yellow
In the office, many people like to keep a peace lily, also known as Spathiphyllum. It symbolizes a successful career and smooth sailing. Not only that, it can also filter indoor exhaust air and has a certain purifying effect on benzene and formaldehyde. So how do you grow a peace lily? Let us explain the growing methods for peace lilies.
I. How to Grow a Peace Lily

1. To grow a peace lily well, you must first choose the right potting soil. It is best to choose fertile soil containing humus, or you can mix leaf mold with garden soil. The flower pot can be chosen according to the size of the plant.
2. Peace lilies are suited to high-temperature, high-humidity environments and are also fairly shade-tolerant, but they must not be exposed to direct sunlight. In summer, about 60% to 70% shading is needed to meet their growth needs. Insufficient light will also cause their leaves to turn yellow and drop.
3. During care, the temperature is best kept between 22°C and 28°C. When the winter temperature is below 10°C, the plant will stop growing, and the leaves are also prone to cold damage. You also need to water it often to keep the potting soil moist; generally, water demand is higher in summer.
4. When fertilizing, it is best to use diluted liquid fertilizer instead of applying fertilizer directly. This will not harm the plant and can also help it grow quickly.
II. What to Do When the Leaves of a Peace Lily Turn Yellow
The leaves have started to turn yellow. This is because the peace lily is not getting ventilation, air circulation, or sunlight. Therefore, it is recommended to place it in a ventilated spot as much as possible, such as a balcony or by a window, and let it get some sun every 3-4 days, but it must not be exposed to strong sun for long periods. If some leaves have already turned yellow, use scissors to cut off the yellow leaves, and after a few days new ones will grow back.
