How do you grow basil from seed? With good care, you can eat fresh leaves every day
How do you grow basil from seed

Basil leaves give off a clove-like fragrance, with a faint mint scent mixed in. Different varieties have different fragrances. So how should you grow basil from seed?
1. First comes the choice of timing, usually starting in late April. Basil roots go fairly deep, so the pot you choose should be fairly deep.
2. For the soil, you should choose well-draining, loose and fertile coconut coir. After taking the seeds out, first soak them in cold water. Once the seed coats are soaked, you can add hot water so the seeds are heated evenly. After soaking the seeds, rinse them repeatedly with clean water to prevent a slimy coating from forming on their surface.
3. Sowing should usually be done on a sunny day, and finally cover the seeds with a layer of plastic film to keep them warm and moist. But a reminder: basil seedlings cannot tolerate drought, so water them in time.
4. About a month after sowing, basil can be harvested. If you want fresh basil to eat every day, sow some every two weeks, so you can be sure of a steady supply of fresh basil to eat.
