When to sow Gloxinia? A detailed guide to sowing time
Regarding sowing Gloxinia, many flower lovers ask when it is suitable to sow Gloxinia. Theoretically, spring and autumn are the best two seasons for sowing Gloxinia, but in practice, many flower lovers sow it all year round, and they all do so very successfully. Nowadays the conditions for controlling temperature and humidity are very good. For autumn sowing, pay attention to keeping warm in winter (it will go dormant below a low temperature of 10 degrees). If there is no heating, you need to harvest the tubers to get through the winter.

From sowing to flowering, Gloxinia takes about 4-6 months. The best germination temperature is around 22°C (below 20°C the seeds will not germinate very actively). Generally, they will germinate in 7-10 days. Because Gloxinia seeds are tiny, sowing should not be too dense, otherwise you will still need to thin the seedlings later. After sowing, place the pot in shallow water to soak through, then take it out, cover the pot surface with glass, and place it in a semi-shaded spot. During the seedling stage, avoid direct strong sunlight, provide appropriate shade, avoid light direction, and spray with water frequently to maintain relatively high humidity. When the seedlings grow 3-4 true leaves, transplant them into small pots. Apply a thin cake fertilizer water once every 10 days or so.
