In the distant Mediterranean, there is a flower that looks like a morning glory, and this is Convolvulus tricolor. This flower is very gorgeous, with three colors, but the flower can only bloom for a single day, the three colors existing only between morning and evening, which cannot help but make one sigh. So does this plant have any requirements for planting? Let us learn about it now.

How to grow Convolvulus tricolor

I. Growing environment

This plant is generally grown as an annual, and is mostly prostrate in habit. Because of its appearance and habits, it is very suitable for decorating fences, or for covering slopes. Besides this, railings and supports are also good choices. If you like, it can also be transplanted into flower pots, used as a potted plant or for decorating flower beds.

II. Soil

This plant is not strict about soil and can be planted directly. During the growing period, to prevent the plant from lodging, you can set up a few stakes in the flower pot, or use a hanging pot to grow it, letting it trail downward. The soil must also be kept moist to prevent lack of water.

III. Temperature

This plant can grow well in all three seasons of spring, summer and autumn. In early spring or the beginning of spring is the best time for sowing; at this time the temperature needs to be kept at 18-25 degrees, and it will sprout in one to two weeks. When summer is too hot, although this plant can still grow, it is prone to becoming weak, so it should be placed in a cool, ventilated environment, and the water supply should be appropriately increased. At the same time, pay attention to the drainage effect of the flower pot to prevent damage to its roots. It can also survive a certain amount of cold, and can be cultivated all the way into early autumn.
