Cultivation methods and precautions for Camellia reticulata

Temperature

This flower is more suited to growing in positions above 20°C, but when the temperature reaches as high as 29°C, it will stop growing. When the temperature rises above 35°C, if you don't want it to go directly into dormancy, you must find a way, because at this temperature the leaves will become scorched. At this time, it is recommended to use shading and water spraying methods to cool it down.

However, if the temperature does not drop below 8°C, this flower can safely overwinter without any insulation measures. This also makes this flower more suitable for planting in areas south of the Huai River where winter temperatures are not that high.

Soil selection

Most plants prefer slightly acidic soil, and this flower is no exception, while also requiring a certain degree of water permeability. The soil must be loose, so that drainage is effortless. With good drainage, the roots can naturally breathe better and will not rot due to poor breathing. If on this basis it can also retain the water that is poured in, then such soil is our best choice.

Light

This flower cannot be placed in a fully shaded or fully sunny position; half shade and half sun is best. When the temperature rises to a certain level they will go dormant, but if there is too little sunlight, photosynthesis cannot keep up, and in this situation the branches will certainly not grow well, and may even be weak and powerless. Even the leaves will lose their vitality.
