Cherry is also called chelizi, yingtao, jingtao, xietao, yingtao, niutao, yingzhu, hantao, and agate, and its fruit can be eaten as a fruit. So how much is its seed price per jin? When to sow, flower, and fruit? How to germinate? How to plant? According to the Jiangsu seedling base, the market price of cherry tree seeds is about 40-80 yuan per jin. In the peak planting season, that is, from February to May and from September to November each year, the price will be higher.

When are cherry tree seeds sown, and when do they flower and fruit?

1. Cherry seed planting is suitable in early spring, and planting from February to April is most suitable, while the most suitable planting time in the second half of the year is from September to December, but this is not absolute either, because factors such as climate, temperature, and environment that affect seed planting also need to be considered.

2. Cherry trees generally bloom from March to April. They fruit from April to May and mature from May to June.

How do cherry tree seeds germinate?

Cherry seeds will germinate. Methods to make cherry seeds germinate:

I. Seed preparation

(1) Timely harvesting: To ensure seed maturity, it is advisable to collect the fruit in time from late July to early August, when the fruit turns dark red. If harvested too early, the seeds have not reached physiological maturity, which affects germination.

(2) Fruit treatment: After the drupes are collected, rub them promptly, wash them with water to remove the fleshy fruit skin, and dry the pits (the hard inner seed coat and kernel) in the shade.

(3) Storage: Place in a cool, ventilated, dry place to prevent mildew, and prevent damage from rats and insects.

II. Seed treatment

Because the drupe fruit is hard, dense in structure, and poor in water permeability, it needs germination-promoting treatment; otherwise, it is difficult to emerge in the same year, or emergence is uneven. Seeds used for autumn sowing do not need germination-promoting treatment, while seeds for spring sowing must undergo sand stratification (or snow stratification) treatment. The treatment methods are as follows:

(1) Sand storage method: After mixing seeds and sand at 1:3 (river sand should be suitable when squeezed into a ball by hand without dripping water), choose a sheltered, sunny place and dig a pit 60 cm deep and 1 m wide, with the length determined by the number of seeds. Put the mixed sand and seeds into the pit. When about 30 cm from the ground, cover with a layer of woven bags, leave ventilation holes at the four corners, and seal and cover with soil until early spring of the next year. The treatment time reaches 3-4 months.

(2) Snow storage method: After mixing seeds and snow at 1:3, pile them in a dark place and store them at low temperature until the next spring.

How are cherry tree seeds planted?

Cherry has strong adaptability and is not very strict about soil and land conditions. Generally, it can be sown in nursery land that is well drained, loose in texture, well aerated, and not compacted. Make raised beds 10 m long, 1.5 m wide, and 0.15 m high. Apply 8-10 kg of ammonium bicarbonate per mu each year as base fertilizer; it is best to apply 2000-3000 kg of organic fertilizer per mu. Use 10 kg/mu ferrous sulfate for soil disinfection.

I. Sowing time and methods

(1) Autumn sowing:

1. Sowing time: Autumn sowing is generally suitable from mid-November to late November, before the soil freezes.

2. Sowing method: Soak the seeds collected that year in a 0.3-0.5% potassium permanganate aqueous solution for 1 hour, rinse them clean with water, and then sow. Use drilling. The sowing width is 5 cm, the row spacing is 20 cm, the ditch depth is 4-5 cm, and the soil cover is 4-4.5 cm. After sowing, irrigate sufficiently to preserve soil moisture for overwintering.

(2) Spring sowing:

1. Sowing time: Spring sowing is generally done in late April.

2. Sowing method: When 40-50% of the seeds that have undergone sand stratification (or snow stratification) have cracked open, take them out and sow in furrows. The soil cover is thinner than for autumn sowing, 2.5-3 cm. Other production steps are the same as for autumn sowing. Experiments have proved that autumn sowing works better than spring sowing, with more uniform emergence.

II. Sowing

Cherry seeds are relatively large, with a 1000-seed weight of 113 g, a general germination rate of 60%, and a sowing rate of 30-40 kg per mu.
