Thornless Rose Eustoma (Lisianthus) Seed Prices and Per-Mu Profit and Cultivation Methods
Eustoma, also known as Prairie Gentian, Turkish Gentian, Lisianthus, and Texas Bluebell, is a relatively common perennial herbaceous plant in China. Because of its unique and lovely flower shape and elegant flower colors, it is deeply loved by people, and many people now grow it. So how much does Eustoma seed generally cost per jin? About how much can be earned from growing one mu? How do you grow it?

Latest Eustoma Seed Prices
The market price of Eustoma seeds is determined by variety and quality. Seeds with a germination rate of 90% cost about 50-80 yuan per jin. Generally, about 5-6 jin is needed to plant one mu, and the yield per mu is generally around 1200 kg. It is worth noting that Eustoma seeds should be selected from non-old seeds more than 2 years old, because if Eustoma seeds are stored for one year, the germination rate will decrease by more than 70%. Also, before planting, a germination test should be carried out to ensure the seed germination rate is above 70%.
Planting Benefit Analysis:
Growing Eustoma requires an input of 10,000 jin of barnyard manure or 100 jin of compound fertilizer per mu, valued at 120 yuan; 2 kg of seeds, valued at 160 yuan; and about 300 yuan for labor, totaling 580 yuan. The average annual yield is more than 1000 kg, with high yield reaching 1500 kg. Calculated at an export-grade rate of 70%, that is 700 kg. At the current purchase price of 4 yuan/kg, the income per mu is 2800 yuan. In addition, 300 kg of substandard products, processed into medicinal material (drying ratio of 3:1), becomes 100 kg. At the current purchase price of 10 yuan/kg, that is 1000 yuan. There is also seed income: each mu produces 20 kg of seeds in the same year, and at 40 yuan/kg that is another 800 yuan. The total income per mu is 4600 yuan. After deducting costs, the income per mu is at least more than 3600 yuan.
Cultivation Techniques:
1. Growing Environment: Eustoma does not have strict requirements for climate and environment, but a mild and humid, sunny, and rain-abundant environment is suitable, and it can tolerate cold. Soil is best if it is sandy loam with deep soil layers, fertility, good drainage, and rich humus. Low-lying, waterlogged land is not suitable for planting.
2. Soil Selection: Choose a sandy loam plot with sufficient sunlight, deep soil layers, and good drainage. After selecting the land, apply 3000 kg of farmyard manure or barnyard manure per mu, plus 50 kg each of superphosphate and cake fertilizer or 15 kg of diammonium phosphate, spread evenly in the field, deep plow the soil 35 cm, level and harrow fine, and make flat beds 1 m wide, with length and width depending on the terrain.
3. Planting Method: Direct seeding is generally used in production. Eustoma seeds are very small, with a 1000-grain weight of 1.5 g and a germination rate of 85%. At a temperature of 18-25°C and with sufficient humidity, seedlings emerge 10-15 days after sowing.
4. Drainage: Eustoma is planted at high density and is afraid of waterlogging. Therefore, during the hot and humid plum rain season, trenches should be cleared in time to drain water and prevent root rot from waterlogging.
5. Flower Removal: The flowering period of Eustoma lasts as long as 4 months. Flowering consumes a considerable amount of nutrients and easily sprouts side branches. Therefore, removing flowers is an important measure to increase Eustoma yield.
