The common pests and diseases of jasmine are mainly southern blight, chaff scale, and cotton aphid. The following methods can be used for control:

1. Southern blight:

During the plum rain season, it easily occurs at the base of the jasmine near the soil surface in the pot. In the early stage of the disease, it appears as water-soaked, irregular brown lesions, the cortex becomes decayed and soft, and soon white silky mycelium grows, which finally becomes yellow-brown sclerotia of varying sizes. Control methods: ① Do not water too much, and avoid water accumulation in the potting soil; ② In severe cases, replace the soil. Normally, replace the soil once a year, or disinfect the soil; ③ Prune diseased branches, or in the early stage of the disease spray with a 500-fold dilution of 50% carbendazim wettable powder.

2. Chaff scale:Nymphs or adults gather on the underside of leaves and in shaded areas of branches and stems, sucking leaf sap. In severe cases, they cause flowers, branches, and leaves to wither and induce sooty mold. Control methods: ① Prune infested branches, burn them in a centralized manner, and maintain ventilation; ② During the nymph stage, spray with a 1000-fold dilution of 50% malathion emulsion every 10-15 days. Continuous spraying 2-3 times gives a better effect.

3. Cotton aphid:The damage symptoms are roughly the same as those of chaff scale, concentrating on the tender parts of branches and leaves. For control, spray with a 1500-fold dilution of 50% aphid-killing agent.
