What are the main varieties of loofah? Farmers should know this before planting

1 Pangtou loofah, also known as Hechuan loofah. Mid-to-late maturing, fruit is oblong, rind green with stripes, densely covered with short white downy hairs and relatively deep transverse wrinkles. Fruit length about 25cm, transverse diameter about 5cm. Weight about 300 grams, flesh thick, good quality. Not easy to become fibrous, long harvest period, high yield.

Hechuan loofah

2 9502 Jiajiao loofah, an early-maturing hybrid. Strong ability to set fruit continuously. Fruit is oblong, dark green, sparsely covered with short white downy hairs and with relatively shallow wrinkles. Fruit length about 25cm, transverse diameter about 4cm, fruit weight about 200 grams, flesh thin, tenderness poor, easily becomes fibrous, must be harvested promptly. Early yield is high, suitable for early-maturing cultivation.

Jiajiao loofah

3 Erfanzao loofah, also known as Xiang loofah, early-to-mid maturing. Fruit is short and round, skin green, young fruit slightly wrinkled, with black stripes, fruit length about 20 cm, transverse diameter about 4cm, fruit weight about 250. Flesh delicate and tender, fragrant and sweet. High yield

4 Rou loofah, mid maturing, fruit is short and round, skin green and slightly wrinkled, with gray-green downy hairs, fruit length about 25cm, transverse diameter about 5cm, fruit weight about 400 grams, flesh loose and sweet
