Old Zhu grows 5 mu of fennel and has been growing it for 10 years. Judging by growing time alone, Old Zhu can be considered experienced in the world of fennel cultivation, and a little minor problem is nothing to him.

Fennel cultivation

But a few days ago, when he had nothing to do, he went to the field to take a look, and a few plants showed yellow leaves. He did not pay much attention, and two days later when he went to look again, the range of yellow leaves had expanded, and the fennel that had shown yellow leaves earlier had slowly begun to die. Old Zhu immediately contacted the senior agronomist at the plant protection station to see what could be done. If this continued, the fennel would have no harvest at all.

When the senior agronomist arrived at the field and took a look, he asked Old Zhu, "This land has been growing fennel for quite a while, hasn't it? What was planted in the previous crop?" "About 10 years, and the previous crop was cilantro," Old Zhu replied.

Because this plot had always been used to grow leafy vegetables, this fennel is a typical continuous-cropping disease. With leafy vegetables grown all along, pathogens accumulated in the soil. Now this has led to root disease, mainly root rot. After pulling up one plant and taking a look, the roots below had already rotted, so the upper part showed these yellow leaves, and the severely affected ones slowly died and stopped growing.

Treatment plan for fennel continuous-cropping disease:

Do a disinfection treatment twice a year. After transplanting is complete, or after sowing and the seedlings emerge, when watering, directly flush the pesticide into the field. For flushing with water, directly use water-soluble systemic organic copper, 500 ml per mu, plus 200 g of Cuiruijun per mu. Combine the two and mix them into water, then when watering, directly flush-apply them into the field. It has a very good preventive effect on Fusarium, Fusarium spp. and some bacteria in the soil. Through this, continuous-cropping diseases can be kept within a certain range.

I hope Old Zhu and all farmer friends who grow fennel have a good harvest.
