How to grow pea shoots indoors with fast hydroponic methods
(1) Choose varieties with a high germination rate, strong disease resistance, no shriveled seeds, high yield, little fiber and better quality.

(2) First soak the seeds in warm water at 55°C, then after the water cools, soak them for another 24 hours, then wash them clean with fresh water and wrap them in several layers of clean damp gauze, place them at a constant temperature of 18-23°C to sprout, and after about 48 hours, when the seeds show sprouts, they can be sown.

(3) First spread a layer of substrate in the container, then evenly scatter the soaked seeds in one layer, and after sowing cover with a layer of coarse sand about ] cm thick, and use fresh water in a spray bottle to soak the sand layer through.
(4) After sowing, cover the seedling tray with clean black plastic film, or place it in a dark room for cultivation, to promote the sprouts to grow in darkness. Every 6-8 hours, uncover the plastic film and spray once with fresh water at 20°C. While spraying, check the germination condition and discard moldy or spoiled seeds. When the sprouts reach 5-6 cm tall after 8-10 days, immediately remove the shading material to encourage the sprouts to change from yellow-green to deep green.

(5) Generally after 20 days of cultivation, when the sprouts are 10-12 cm tall, they can be harvested. The harvest method is to cut 2 cm from the base. For the first and second harvests, leave one axillary
bud or branch at the base. Generally the first harvest has the highest yield, and the second and third harvests are slightly lower. What should be noted when growing pea shoots?

Pea seeds can be bought at a seed store. The tender peas normally eaten as a vegetable cannot be used as seeds, and the dry peas sold in supermarkets make it impossible to tell how long they have been stored, so it is best not to buy them. From germination to harvest, pea shoots need plenty of water. Watering often is the only way to keep the pea shoots fresh and tender. The growing substrate can be sand or soil. After the first harvest of pea shoots, they will grow again after 10 days, and generally they can be harvested repeatedly 2-3 times.
