Wild vegetables are treated as weeds in rural areas, yet growers make a fortune from them
There is a vegetable with high medicinal and edible value and very rich nutritional content, deeply loved by urban people, but
in rural areas, farmers say it is a weed and worthless.
This vegetable is mustard greens.

Mustard greens, an annual herb, 30-150 cm tall, with erect, branching stems. Its leaves can be salted for eating, and the seeds and the whole plant are used medicinally to resolve phlegm, relieve asthma, reduce swelling and stop pain; the ground seeds are called mustard, used as a seasoning; the oil pressed from them is called mustard oil and has very high value.
After farmer Zhao Junsheng discovered the market value of mustard greens, he began cultivating them artificially, and afterward made a considerable fortune.

At first, when Zhao Junsheng started contracting land for large-scale planting, the villagers were very pessimistic about him, believing that this wild vegetable grew everywhere, was too common and worthless, and that surely no one would buy it. Zhao Junsheng did not follow the villagers' advice. After harvesting sweet corn, he planted all 50 mu of land with mustard greens. Unexpectedly, he hit a good market, and the 50 mu of wild vegetables instantly created nearly 300,000 yuan in income, and his wallet immediately swelled.
When the villagers heard that Zhao Junsheng had made a fortune growing wild vegetables, they all began to learn from him, and even attracted villagers from nearby villages to come and learn.

In fact, the method of artificially cultivating mustard greens is very simple:
Planting time. During the year, sowing can be done in spring, summer and autumn. The best time for spring sowing is from late February to April, summer sowing is best in July to August, and autumn sowing is from September to early October; if planting in plastic greenhouses or solar greenhouses, the sowing period is longer, and it can be done anytime from October to early February of the following year. If you encounter problems during the planting process, you can consult experts on the Yunzhongyang platform. It is the world's largest agricultural technology Q&A website, gathering tens of thousands of experts in planting and breeding, and every question raised will be answered within 2 minutes.

Sowing and raising seedlings. If using shepherd's purse seeds harvested in the same year, they need to be soaked in warm water before sowing, wrapped in gauze, and placed in a refrigerator at 2-7°C, rinsed with water once a day, and sown after the seeds crack. Seeds from the previous year can be sown directly.

Land selection and sowing. Mustard greens have no strict requirements for soil, as long as drainage and irrigation are convenient, water and fertilizer are retained, and it is sunny and ventilated; then drill sowing is carried out on plots with few weeds. Water the seedbed surface 1-2 days before sowing, mix the seeds evenly with 1-3 times fine soil and broadcast them, then cover with a layer of fine soil.
