Any farmer who has grown cucumbers knows that cucumbers have a fairly high nutrient demand, especially during the growing period when their nutrient needs increase, so you need to fertilize appropriately during the cucumber growing period to keep the plants healthy and increase yields. So how should you fertilize cucumbers? Let's take a look.

Cucumbers like fertilizer and water and cannot tolerate poor soil, because cucumbers have shallow roots and poor absorption capacity, so fertilization should be sufficient. At the same time, since cucumbers cannot tolerate high-concentration soil solutions, the amount applied each time must not be too large. When the base fertilizer is sufficient, topdressing management should follow the principle of "small amounts, many meals," meaning fertilize often but use a smaller amount each time. After the seedlings are planted and have recovered, apply a seedling-promoting fertilizer, using about 10 kg of urea per mu or about 750 kg of human waste.

After the first fruit is harvested, topdress once every 5-7 days. During the peak fruiting period, you can topdress once with each watering, which is called "one clear, one muddy." Each topdressing should use 10-15 kg of urea. In the late fruiting stage, root absorption declines, so you can use a 0.3% urea solution and 0.2% monopotassium phosphate for foliar topdressing.
