Toweak and small orchid seedlingsrejuvenate them is somewhat difficult. Practice has proven that to rejuvenate weak and small seedlings, all measures must conform to their growth patterns. You need to maintain them patiently with an ordinary mindset, advance steadily and take things slowly, and absolutely must not rush. As long as you choose good growing medium and keep up with management, weak and small orchid seedlings can definitely be rejuvenated.

(1) Carefully select a mixed growing medium that is breathable, drains well, and is rich in nutrients: A mixed growing medium is best. For cultivating weak and small seedlings, the growing medium is best a mixed medium containing sifted orchid mud, accounting for 1/3 of the mix, coarse at the bottom and fine on top. In particular, around the pseudobulbs, use fine particles 3~5 mm in diameter to cover them, as this is beneficial for new root growth of weak and small seedlings. Deep roots and lush leaves - only by growing the roots well can weak and small seedlings possibly be rejuvenated; otherwise, nothing can be discussed.

(2) Orchid pots should be small, and repotting should not be too frequent: Weak and small orchid seedlings have underdeveloped root systems, so when choosing pots, small is better than large. Using large pots for weak and small seedlings makes it difficult for the growing medium to dry out thoroughly, which easily leads to root rot and plant collapse. Weak and small seedlings grow slowly and should be kept still rather than disturbed. If no disease is seen, do not repot; seedlings that sprout after repotting are very difficult to grow large.

(3) It is best to cultivate them in the same pot as robust seedlings: Practice has proven that the more robust the orchid plant, the more orchid fungi surround its root system, and the more orchid fungi there are, the more beneficial it is to orchid growth. However, around the root systems of weak and small seedlings, most orchid fungi are not active, and the orchid plants grow slowly. Therefore, if you want weak and small seedlings to be rejuvenated, it is best to find them a "wet nurse," that is, plant them in the same pot as robust orchid seedlings so they grow in an environment with active orchid fungi, using the "strong" to lead the "weak" and promote growth, with good results.

(4) Provide appropriate shading: Weak and small seedlings should be kept in shade rather than sun, with scattered light being best. You must wait until they unfurl leaves before letting them receive a little morning sun, gradually exercising them to adapt. If weak and small seedlings are suddenly exposed to strong direct sunlight, they are easily damaged.

(5) Keep cultivation lean: Weak and small seedlings have weak growth vigour and do not need much fertilizer, especially during the dormant period. "A weakened body cannot take tonics" - applying too much fertilizer will be counterproductive. The general requirement for growing weak and small seedlings is lean cultivation with a drier regime; the growing medium should be dry but not parched, moist but not waterlogged. Too much fertilizer and too much moisture often make it hard for roots to form, or even prevent root formation entirely. When watering, do not spray heavily, and generally it is also not suitable to let them get rained on; otherwise, the seedlings rot easily.

(6) Create suitable air humidity conditions: When growing weak and small seedlings, air humidity must not be too high or too low; the relative air humidity is best at 40%~70%.
