How to grow black goji berry? A step-by-step guide to the planting method
Blackgoji berryHow to grow it: I once saw a farmer grow black goji berry using a very suitable method, with relatively high yields and a bumper harvest at picking time. Here I just want to share this excellent growing method.

1. Seedling raising of black goji berry. Seedlings can be raised in spring and autumn. The nursery plot should be sandy loam soil with low, flat terrain, good drainage, convenient irrigation and a relatively thick soil layer. Remove the weeds from the nursery plot, apply farmyard manure at 2000 kg per mu, sheep manure being the best, and apply 20-30 kg of nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium compound fertilizer, then turn the soil promptly after fertilizing. For the seedbeds, leave a 40 cm wide working path between two beds for easy movement and management. Before sowing, irrigate the seedbed thoroughly; sowing can be done 2 to 3 days after watering. Before sowing, disinfect the seeds with potassium permanganate solution, and spray clean water on the sand surface about every two days until the seedlings emerge.
2. Black goji berry: pay attention to planting density. The reasonable planting density of black goji berry is 440-700 plants per mu. It can be planted reasonably with a row spacing of 1.5 (or 1.2) m and a plant spacing of 1 (or 0.8) m, which neither affects the growth of black goji berry and the picking of the fruit, nor wastes land resources.

3. Field management of black goji berry: timely weeding and loosening of the soil throughout the year, and moderate watering according to the soil conditions to prevent the soil from lacking water. Apply sufficient base fertilizer in March every year, and carry out topdressing on the land at the end of June and the end of August. In the early stage, mainly nitrogen fertilizer is used, and in the later stage, more phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer are applied.
4. Shaping and pruning of black goji berry: black goji berry bears fruit in three years and enters full fruit-bearing period in five years, and its shaping must be completed in the first three years after planting. Black goji berry should be properly pruned and shaped every year. Through such pruning and shaping, each black goji berry plant can maintain a good shape and maintain yield. Pruning is very important for increasing yield and cultivating large goji berries.

5. Harvesting of black goji berry. Pick the ripe fruit of black goji berry in time, dry it in the shade or air it in the sun, but it must not be exposed to strong sun, to prevent excessive drying. Never rub it with your hands, so as not to affect the quality. In summer during the dog days when there is a lot of rain, it can be dried by warm fire.
