Sugarcane is a very common fruit in winter. It is sweet and has relatively high nutritional value. Many people like to eat some sugarcane in their leisure time to pass the time. This year during the Spring Festival, I bought some sugarcane for my children to eat, and while eating it they asked when sugarcane matures. Sugarcane is an annual crop, planted in January of each solar calendar year, with a maturity period around October and a harvest period after December.

So why do people like to eat sugarcane in winter? Because winter sugarcane is the sweetest. After the dry autumn climate and the north wind blowing, much of the water in the sugarcane has evaporated. There is a saying that "autumn sugarcane beats ginseng."

It is not advisable to eat sugarcane that has not reached maturity, because at that time the sugarcane itself contains toxins, which disappear only once it matures!
