Large and small Anubias have earned the nickname "the cockroach of aquatic plants," which shows just how easy they are to keep and how tenacious their vitality is. Let's first take a look at a brief introduction:

Difficulty: Very easy

Light requirement: Low

Plant type: Rhizome, underground stem

Family/Genus: Araceae, Anubias genus

Region: Africa

Size: 25cm - 45cm

Growth rate: Slow

Whether CO2 needs to be added: NO

Personal experience: Anubias really is a very easy aquatic plant to grow. Generally, as long as the water quality is kept stable, it can survive. However, I need to remind all beginner friends:

(1) Shade-loving aquatic plants like Anubias do not have high light requirements, so try to avoid strong light exposure to prevent green spot algae and other algae from appearing. So some fish keepers ask, how do you deal with Anubias whose leaves already have green spot algae on them? It looks really unsightly and ugly. It's very simple: reduce the time the lights are on. If the aquascape is easy to move, you can directly take the Anubias out and just put it into a container filled with water from the original tank, keep it away from light for a few days, then take it out and look? The leaf surface will absolutely be clean already.

(2) Some fish keepers ask, my Anubias has been growing for almost a year and I still haven't seen it grow. Actually, although Anubias grows slowly, as long as you regularly add an appropriate amount of liquid fertilizer, you will soon see new shoots emerging. Don't believe it? You can all go and give it a try.
