What are the planting methods for potted amaryllis?
Amaryllis, also known as belladonna lily, is a flower loved by many potted plant enthusiasts, so do you know how to plant potted amaryllis?
To plant amaryllis, you first need to understand its growing habits. The suitable temperature for amaryllis growth is 18-25°C, the humidity is around 50%, and strong light exposure should be avoided.
Once you understand the above, you can plant potted amaryllis. First, choose amaryllis bulbs with a diameter of 5-8 cm. A smooth surface with no damage is all that is needed.
Then prepare the nutrient soil for potting. The nutrient soil should be loose and breathable, rich in organic matter. You can choose garden soil plus fermented farmyard manure, or peat soil plus fermented farmyard manure, mixed together in a 1:1 ratio and stirred evenly. Put it into a flower pot with a diameter of about 20 cm. A clay pot is best, as long as the bottom has drainage holes.
Then comes transplanting the amaryllis. Trim the roots of the amaryllis bulb slightly, then soak it in a 5% carbendazim solution for 5-10 minutes, then take it out and let the surface moisture dry, and plant it in the flower pot. The burial depth should be 2-3 cm above the roots, and the roots should be spread out. Finally, water thoroughly.
Before long, the amaryllis will bloom.
