List of high-efficiency, low-toxicity pesticide varieties recommended for use by the Ministry of Agriculture
As the state continues to strengthen the management of highly toxic pesticides, in order to enable relevant production enterprises to better adapt to market demand after converting production, and to better guide farmers on the effectiveness of pesticide use, the pesticide administrative department of the Ministry of Agriculture recently recommended a group of high-efficiency, low-toxicity pesticide varieties for use on fruit trees, vegetables and tea (list attached). These varieties cover three categories in the overall prevention and control of pests and diseases in agricultural production: insecticides, acaricides and fungicides, with high efficiency, low toxicity and environmental protection as the selection direction. While recommending pesticide varieties for use to the vast number of farmers, many related measures have also been introduced to ease the survival pressure on pesticide enterprises.
The state will adopt relevant policies, such as establishing special funds for the development of substitute varieties for highly toxic pesticides, increasing taxes on highly toxic varieties, and reducing or exempting taxes on substitute varieties. These measures will be implemented through the coordination and cooperation of multiple administrative departments. Substitute varieties for highly toxic pesticides will gradually expand their market share, and this will also ensure the gradual reduction of highly toxic pesticide varieties without bringing major negative impacts on China's agricultural production.
Reducing and phasing out highly toxic pesticides is a major challenge for pesticide production enterprises. Many production enterprises face suspension of production and conversion to other products, but at the same time it also brings new opportunities to China's pesticide industry, because if enterprises can carry out structural adjustment as early as possible, they will gain a certain first-mover advantage in the market and may stand out in the process of reshuffling the pesticide market.
