When using pesticides on dragon fruit, we generally deal with pest problems and disease problems, and sometimes we also need to add nutrients and trace elements, so we often mix them. When mixing pesticides, pay attention to the following points:

For example, when mixing methacrylate fungicides with triazole fungicides, we try to choose a combination with relatively suitable cost and outstanding control effect. We can use a product such as benzyl ether, whose cost and effect are both quite good.

For another example, when we want to mix tebuconazole and pyraclostrobin, if we mix and use them on the spot, it is difficult to control the dosage, because tebuconazole can easily cause phytotoxicity at high doses, and pyraclostrobin is not as safe as imagined when mixed. Try to choose finished products of this type of fungicide, so the risk will be much smaller, because the ratio is already prepared.

When mixing all fungicides containing methoxyacrylate, we generally follow two principles and must be cautious: one is mixing with organophosphorus, and the other is mixing with emulsifiable concentrates.

Because when it is mixed with organophosphorus, emulsifiable concentrates, or other fungicides or insecticides, phytotoxicity is very likely to occur. Under high temperature and high humidity, when the dosage is increased, the possibility of phytotoxicity is very high, so everyone must pay attention to the dosage used.

Also, when mixing pesticides, copper-based products should not easily be one of the targets for mixing, because worldwide there are very few copper-based products suitable for mixing, and most are very poor. It is recommended to use copper-based products alone.

Among insecticides, emamectin benzoate has very good mixability, and imidacloprid, thiamethoxam and similar products all have very good controllability. Because dragon fruit produces many new shoots and flower buds at high temperatures, when mixing, if emulsifiable concentrate products are used, as long as the dosage is increased, phytotoxicity is very likely to occur, so emulsifiable concentrates must be used cautiously in mixtures.

When fungicides, insecticides, and foliar fertilizers are mixed together, phytotoxicity often easily occurs. The reason this phytotoxicity occurs is that the overall concentration is too high, causing cells to leak cell sap outward.

So please note one point: when we generally recommend mixing several products together, the total medicinal solution prepared should preferably not be lower than 200 times.

We can also apply agents that easily cause phytotoxicity but are still quite good by root drenching or by applying medicine through the roots, so that they have a relatively good control period while reducing phytotoxicity.

For the control of underground pests and the like, our own orchard may gradually turn to root drenching or granular formulations to solve the problem, controlling the period and reducing labor input.
