What are the indoor growing methods for pothos?
Pothos is a large evergreen herbaceous vine, evergreen in all seasons, often climbing and growing on rocks and tree trunks, with stems reaching several meters long. Pothos has long stems and green leaves, and also has a good air-purifying function, making it an excellent indoor ornamental plant.

Pothos likes shade and scattered light, and dislikes direct sunlight, so placing it in a sunny spot in a pot is enough. Pothos placed in a room with insufficient light should be moved to a brighter place every half month, such as beside a window.

Pothos is commonly propagated by cuttings, which can be divided into soil culture and water culture. When taking cuttings, choose stems with aerial roots, making sure they have 2-3 leaves (ensuring two nodes) is enough; the more leaves, the faster they take shape. Generally, spring is the best time for cuttings, and winter is the worst. In winter, make sure the room temperature is not lower than 10 degrees; if the temperature is too low, yellowing and falling leaves are likely to occur.

1. Soil culture

Pothos likes soil rich in humus, loose and fertile, and slightly acidic. Therefore, when growing in soil, be sure not to use soil from limestone areas; you can use yellow soil, red soil, brown soil, etc., or topsoil from non-limestone areas. When planting, bury the aerial roots and one node into the soil, water thoroughly, and place in a sunny spot. Keep the soil moist, and new leaves will grow in 10-15 days. When the vine is not long, just keep the soil moist; if the vine is too long, you can spray a little water on the leaves.
2. Water culture

For water culture, just make sure one or two nodes and the leaves are above the water surface. It is recommended to first cultivate it in a small cup, and after the plant grows longer, place it in a fish tank or a large container, change the water at intervals, and fertilize or use soil extract. If using a fish tank, you can keep a few small fish in the tank, and just feed the fish regularly and change the water. This way, even if you do not have enough time to care for the pothos, after a few months the pothos can still gain about 10 leaves.
