What are the key technical points for growing Jinsi Huangju (Golden Silk Imperial Chrysanthemum)?

How to Grow Jinsi Huangju (Golden Silk Imperial Chrysanthemum)
1. Choosing and Preparing the Site. Chrysanthemums are not demanding about soil. They grow best in well-drained, fertile, loose soil rich in humus. Waterlogged, low-lying land and saline-alkaline land are not suitable for planting, and continuous cropping should be avoided.
2. Propagation Methods. Propagation methods include division and cutting propagation. (1) Division propagation: after harvesting the chrysanthemums in November, select robust plants free of pests and diseases, dig out the entire root system, remove the above-ground parts and the [roots], plant them in a fertile plot, and apply a layer of farmyard manure to help them overwinter warmly. The following year in March-April, open up the soil and water them. In April-May, when the chrysanthemum seedlings have grown to 15 cm, dig up the whole plant, divide it into several plants, and plant them out in the field in holes at a spacing of 40 cm between plants and 40 cm between rows, with 1-2 plants per hole. After planting, cover with soil, firm it down, and water. Generally, the old seedlings from each 667 sq m can plant 1 hectare of production field.

Cutting propagation: in April-May or June-August, select thick, pest-free new shoots as cuttings. Take the middle section and cut it into small pieces 10-15 cm long, treat the cuttings with plant hormones, then insert them into the seedbed at a row spacing of 20-25 cm and a plant spacing of 6-7 cm, firm the soil and water. Roots can develop in about 20 days, and thereafter apply human and livestock manure water once a month.
Northeast China is not suitable for growing it; the old seedlings freeze to death over winter and need to be raised again for planting. Some areas of Gansu can grow it. For good quality, only three or four branches should be left on each plant. Fix the plant in place with small bamboo sticks so it does not easily fall over, ensuring the chrysanthemums at the top receive sunlight and rain well.
