Grown in clear, transparent water, the Clivia's pure white, sturdy roots are very well developed, its growth rate is fairly fast, and it is easy to manage; flowers on top, roots below, fish in the water. Clivia is a precious ornamental flower. The flowers range from yellow to orange-yellow, the flowering period lasts 1 month, and it can bloom 1 to 2 times a year. Clivia has traditionally been grown in soil. The steps and methods for growing Clivia in water are as follows:

1. Taking the seedling: dig up a two-year-old Clivia grown in the ground, or take a potted one out of its pot, remove the soil, rinse the roots clean with fresh water, and soak them in diluted flower nutrient solution for 1 day.

2. Pruning: cut off old roots, rotten roots, roots damaged by pests and diseases, and some old leaves, keeping the strong, vigorous roots and leaves.

3. Choosing the container: there are two hydroponic methods for Clivia: one is the single-layer vase water culture method, the other is the double-layer vase water culture method. For the single-layer vase water culture method, take a vase with no hole in the bottom, plant the prepared Clivia on a sponge, then put it into the vase and add fresh water and flower nutrient solution. For the double-layer vase water culture method, first take a vase with no hole in the bottom as the lower water container, then take a plastic sieve as the upper layer, put the prepared Clivia on the plastic sieve, let the roots spread out and add clean stone grains or pretty river stones so that the Clivia stands upright on the sieve, then place it in the vase and add fresh water and nutrient solution.

4. It should be placed in a brightly lit, well-ventilated spot. In daily care and management, generally in the hot summer you can change the water every other day or even every day, and put in a small piece of charcoal to prevent rot; in winter change it every 10-15 days, and the pH value of the water used is best kept at 6.0-7.0; regularly apply a small amount of 2-3 drops of nutrient solution; not only add the nutrient solution to the water, but also spray the leaves with nutrient solution (the nutrient solution can be made at home from Clivia fertilizer or bought at a flower shop) so that it grows vigorously.

Notes:

1. Add nutrient solution once every half month

2. Keep the environment stable, that is, once the Clivia is placed in the vase, do not move it around; keep the environment relatively fixed

3. Pay attention to combining root feeding and foliar feeding; not only add nutrient solution to the water, but also spray the leaves with nutrient solution

4. To promote flowering, you can inject flower nutrient solution into the head, once a month. Half a milliliter each time.

5. Stop foliar feeding during the flowering period to prevent the flowers from withering early
