Whether or not to use pesticides when farming is a dilemma either way. What is the best course of action?
A few days ago I went back to my hometown and made a point of walking along the river outside the town, and by the edge of the fields I found a pile of empty pesticide bottles and bags. I looked it up online, and pyrazosulfuron-ethyl and bispyribac-sodium are both chemically synthesized herbicides, which also count as pesticides. An experienced rural doctor said that if someone in distress drinks a certain phosphorus pesticide, they can still be saved as long as their stomach is pumped in time. But once someone drinks a herbicide, it is all over; even pumping the stomach makes it very hard to save them, which shows how special the toxicity of this kind of pesticide is.

In the past, rural farming also used pesticides, and their toxicity was very high too, but they were not used as frequently as they are now, nor were there so many varieties. That is why many people in rural areas today get illnesses like cancer; part of it is water pollution, and another part is also not unrelated to these things. Not using pesticides in farming does not work either, and using too few does not work either. Many manufacturers are producing biological pesticides, which is to say their toxicity is relatively lower. I do not know whether that is true. I hope what they say is true.

But even so, they still cannot be used too frequently. Yet the fact is that many farmers today, in order to ensure their yields do not drop, use pesticides to deal with any pests or diseases they find in the fields, no matter what, and the results are actually pretty good. These casually discarded pesticide bottles and bags are the proof.

The food issue is a major matter concerning national security and public health. I wonder whether the rural agricultural technicians know about these situations? Are they actively providing guidance? Also, as farmers, we should be aware of these problems and not overuse pesticides, otherwise the food you grow really will not be safe. Even if you do not plan for others, you should still consider the health of your own family, because it is not good for you to eat this kind of food either, unless you do not eat it yourself. Can you really do that?
