Strawberry planting season is here: a full guide to the entire planting process

Seedling selection: choose seedlings with thick stems, dark green leaves, and well-developed root systems. When lifting the seedlings, keep soil around the roots to help them establish after transplanting.

Build raised beds and form ridges, with ridge width around 80 cm and depth around 30 cm, and a north-south orientation is best.
Transplanting and setting out: when transplanting, arrange them in a triangle, do not bury the crown and do not expose the roots below, and the root systems must not be curled. After planting, press the soil firmly with your hands to prevent them from being washed out after watering.
Water after transplanting. After the production seedlings are transplanted, you must ensure good moisture in the early stage! Right now is the season when the autumn heat is still strong and north wind days are gradually increasing. To ensure the survival rate of the production seedlings, the first three to four days must have heavy water; it is fine even if there is half a furrow of water in the furrow. During the high-temperature period at noon, water to cool down once every hour; in high-temperature weather, the interval can be shortened. Do not see the ridge surface looking moist and then neglect watering!
After the seedlings recover, the leaves spread out and new leaves begin to grow.
When temperatures are low, add greenhouse film and plastic mulch, and new leaves inside the plastic mulch should be taken out.
