Based on the survey results from all forecasting stations across the province, combined with a comprehensive analysis of crop growth and meteorological conditions, soybean aphids are expected to occur at a moderate level overall across the province this year, with some cities and counties that have received less rainfall and had high early-season aphid populations reaching moderate-to-severe occurrence. The peak period of soybean aphid damage will be from mid-July to early August. 1. Occurrence is earlier than in normal years. According to monitoring by all forecasting and plant protection stations across the province, the first aphid sighting was on June 10, later than last year but still about 10 days earlier than in normal years. 2. Meteorological conditions are unfavorable for soybean aphid

The peak period of soybean aphid damage will be from mid-July to early August.

1. Occurrence is earlier than in normal years. According to monitoring by all forecasting and plant protection stations across the province, the first aphid sighting was on June 10, later than last year but still about 10 days earlier than in normal years.

2. Meteorological conditions are unfavorable for soybean aphid occurrence. Since the beginning of July, there has been more rainfall and slightly lower temperatures, and aphid populations have grown slowly. In addition, according to forecasts from the meteorological department, July and August in our province will be a concentrated period of frequent rain, with above-normal precipitation distributed unevenly, greater in the south and less in the north, and temperatures slightly higher than in normal years, which will have a certain impact on soybean aphid occurrence.

Based on comprehensive analysis, soybean aphids occurred earlier this year, but because meteorological conditions are not very favorable, soybean aphids are expected to occur at a moderate level overall across the province, with an uneven distribution pattern. In some areas with suitable climatic conditions, occurrence will reach a severe level. All localities should pay attention to field monitoring and organize timely control in fields that reach the control threshold.

Control recommendations

When soybean aphids occur in patches, 5-10% of plants in the field have curled leaves, or the percentage of aphid-infested plants exceeds 50%, and the number of aphids per 100 plants reaches 1500-3000 or more, pesticide spraying can be carried out for control. The specific pesticides and dosages are: 10% DAGONGCHEN (Yibianjing, Haizheng imidacloprid, Yakesi) 10-20 grams per mu; or 3% Mospilan emulsifiable concentrate 10-20 milliliters; or 2.5% Green Kung Fu 15 milliliters per mu; or 25% Huifeng Kuaike 20 milliliters per mu; or 25% Kuaishaling 20 milliliters per mu. For the above pesticides, dilute with 30 kilograms of water per mu and spray evenly.

The above pesticides can be mixed and sprayed with Tianfengsu or the plant nutrient solution Xiaoyedi to increase the control effect.
