Detailed Explanation of Key Fertilization Techniques for Mushroom Cultivation

Mushroom Cultivation 0 views
Mushrooms require relatively large amounts of nutrients for growth. If nutrients cannot be supplied in time, the fruiting bodies will grow poorly, and especially in the later stage, premature senescence may occur. Particularly when the compost quality is poor, with little manure and much straw, and the casing layer is thin, yield and quality will be noticeably affected. Therefore, in the later stage of mushroom growth, timely and appropriate topdressing is beneficial for improving yield and quality. However, topdressing for mushrooms can only play a supplementary role, and attention must be paid to its effects to prevent the growth of contaminating microorganisms caused by improper topdressing. In addition, the concentration and amount of topdressing must be controlled.

However, topdressing for mushrooms can only play a supplementary role, and attention must be paid to its effects to prevent the growth of contaminating microorganisms caused by improper topdressing. In addition, the concentration and amount of topdressing must be controlled; excessive concentration or excessive amount is unfavorable to mushroom growth.

Topdressing is generally carried out after the third flush of mushrooms is harvested, until the fruiting bodies of the next flush grow to the size of soybean grains. After that, little or no topdressing is generally applied before harvest. When topdressing mushrooms, pay attention to the following five aspects:

1. Reasonable amount. Follow the principle of "eat small meals more often"; otherwise, it will hinder the normal growth of the mycelium.

2. Appropriate timing. The purpose of topdressing is to provide nutrients for the propagation of the mycelium and the maturation of the fruiting bodies. Therefore, in terms of timing, it can be done after harvesting 2 to 3 flushes of mushrooms.

3. Choose fertilizer quality. It is best to select multiple fertilizers and apply them in rotation, especially for certain inorganic fertilizers with relatively single nutrients; rotation is particularly necessary.

4. Eliminate sources of disease. Liquid fertilizer must not contain insect eggs or pathogens. The stable manure or manure slurry used must be fermented or decomposed and disinfected by boiling to avoid the growth of contaminating microorganisms and the occurrence of pests and diseases.

5. Coordination of fertilizer and management. Topdressing needs to be coordinated with other cultivation measures, and especially the improvement of compost quality must not be neglected. Only by appropriately topdressing mushrooms on the basis of a well-prepared compost can a better harvest be obtained.
