What are the methods to prevent mushroom blight?

Mushroom death is the phenomenon in which small mushrooms on the mushroom bed shrink, turn yellow, and die. When mushroom blight occurs in patches or batches, it can severely affect yield. 1. Mushroom death is the phenomenon in which small mushrooms on the mushroom bed shrink, turn yellow, and die. When mushroom blight occurs in patches or batches, it can severely affect yield.

1. Causes of mushroom death

1. Temperatures too high in late autumn (exceeding 23°C), or rising temperatures during the spring fruiting period (temperatures above 21°C for several consecutive days), causing small mushroom seedlings to shrink and die from lack of nutrients.

2. Poor ventilation in the mushroom house, insufficient oxygen, and excessively high carbon dioxide concentration mean that the heat generated during metabolism cannot dissipate quickly, causing small mushroom seedlings to die in batches from insufficient oxygen or high temperatures.

3. After casing soil is applied and before fruiting, the mycelium grows too fast, the fruiting position is too high, and the formed mushroom seedlings are too dense, so the nutrient supply is insufficient and some mushroom seedlings die.

4. When the temperature is above 22°C and the relative humidity is above 95%, closing doors and windows after watering leaves waterlogged mycelium surfaces, and the small mushroom seedlings suffocate and die.

5. Careless mushroom picking and other management operations cause mechanical damage that results in mushroom death.

6. Spraying pesticides too frequently and in too large amounts causes mushroom seedlings to die from pesticide damage.

2. Prevention methods

1. According to local climatic conditions, arrange the inoculation time properly and avoid fruiting during high-temperature seasons.

2. Pay attention to cooling the mushroom house to prevent damage from high temperatures.

3. During the casing soil and water adjustment stage, prevent the mycelium from growing above the soil surface, lower the fruiting position, and avoid overly dense fruiting.

4. When watering during high temperatures, open doors and windows, and poke holes in the substrate layer with bamboo skewers where water accumulates to improve ventilation.

5. When preventing and controlling pests, diseases, and contaminating fungi, do not use excessive amounts of pesticide, and avoid using pesticides during the fruiting period.
