Introduction to Pandun Soybean Varieties and Key Cultivation Techniques
Pandun soybean was developed using distant hybridization technology. A patent was applied for this technological achievement with the state; patent certificate number: 021359970.
Pandun Soybean No. 3 has a determinate podding habit, a growth period of 106 days, a plant height of 1.2-1.5 m, 6-10 branches per plant, and about 400 pods; each plant generally yields 0.1-0.3 kg of dry soybeans, with a 100-seed weight of 32 g, yellow seed coat, and brown hilum. Seeding rate is 2 kg per mu, with 4000-6000 plants per mu; stable yield is 500-600 kg per mu, and high-yield fields can reach 800 kg. Protein content is 39.9%, and fat content is 21.72%.
Pandun Soybean No. 4 has a semi-determinate podding habit, a growth period of 98 days, a compact plant type, a plant height of 1.6 m, 2-4 branches, 28 nodes on the main stem, relatively small leaves, 190 seeds per plant, yellow seed coat, brown hilum, and a 100-seed weight of 23 g. Seeding rate is 5 kg per mu, with 15,000 plants per mu; stable yield is 500-600 kg per mu, and high-yield fields can reach 800 kg. Protein content is 39.4%, and fat content is 20.7%. Pandun Soybean No. 3 and No. 4 have strong resistance to pests and diseases, well-developed root systems with lateral roots that can extend 1 m deep, strong and tough stems, wind resistance, no lodging, preference for water and fertilizer, drought tolerance, and tolerance to continuous cropping. They have wide adaptability and can be planted in all soybean-producing areas of China.
