Introduction to the Characteristics and Traits of the Qilong Black Soybean (Soybean) Variety
Qilong Black Soybean (formerly known as Wupiqingren Bean) was obtained by the Xinglong Branch of the Qidong City Agricultural Improved Seed Farm in Jiangsu Province in 1978 through hybridization using black soybean as the female parent and Xifengqing as the male parent. It was developed through continuous selection and bred in 1988.
Characteristics and traits: plant height 60-7Ocm, thick and sturdy stems, fertilizer-tolerant and lodging-resistant, resistant to viral diseases, drought-tolerant, sub-determinate podding habit, fluffy flowers, brown pods, podding height 20.5cm, 3-4 branches, 16.2 nodes on the main stem, 30 pods per plant, mainly 2-3 seeds per pod, 60 seeds per plant. Sown in late June, flowers in mid-August, harvested around October 20, with a whole growth period of 130 days. Qilong Black Soybean has a black seed coat, dark green cotyledons, light black hilum, elliptical seed shape, 100-seed weight over 32g, large and uniform seeds, and good marketability. It has medicinal and health benefits, with functions of enriching blood, nourishing the spirit, promoting diuresis, and improving eyesight. According to analysis by the Testing Center of Nanjing Agricultural University, the amino acid content is 37.96% and the protein content is 46.05%. It is a rare large-seeded specialty variety in the soybean cultivation history of the Nantong region. In 1999, the highest @#@136@#@ price was 5.00 yuan per kg, with very considerable economic benefits and highly sought after for export trade.
Yield performance: Variety comparison trials were conducted from 1989 to 1990, resulting in a yield of 152.6kg per mu, an increase of 79.9% over Zhejiang Lanxi Wupiqingren Bean. From 1996 to 1997, it participated in the Jiangsu Province vegetable soybean regional trials, with an average yield of 107.8kg per mu, an increase of 1.42% over the control Luboazhu. In 1998, it participated in the provincial vegetable soybean production trial, with a yield of 118.9kg per mu. The Xinglong Branch of the Improved Seed Farm had a 6-year average of 139.2kg from 1993 to 1998, with the highest yield in 1995 at 150.8kg per mu, the agricultural science team at 175kg per mu, and the lowest in 1998 with an average of 127.3kg. From 1995 to 1996, it was planted on a large scale in Tuanjiesha, Chongming, generally at 125kg, with high-yielding fields at 150kg. Qilong Black Soybean has been planted cumulatively on nearly 30,000 mu.
Breeder: Xinglong Branch of the Qidong City Agricultural Improved Seed Farm, Jiangsu Province
Region and techniques: Sow around June 25, using 5kg of seed per mu, with a density of 8,000-10,000 plants per mu. Apply 6-7kg of urea as a top dressing at the early flowering stage. Control soybean pod borer in a timely manner to improve marketability, and harvest promptly after maturity to prevent pod shattering.
