How to Achieve Early Maturity and High Yield in Soybeans
1. Choose suitable varieties
When selecting seeds, choose varieties with shorter plant height that can be planted at wider spacing; these varieties have relatively lower water requirements and suffer less yield loss in dry years.
2. Strengthen field management
Weed promptly. Weeds compete with soybeans for fertilizer and water, affect photosynthesis and hinder ventilation, so weeds must be removed promptly. Cultivate and hill up at the right time. When cultivating and hilling, cultivate deeply and hill up plenty of soil to enhance soil permeability and its capacity to retain water and fertilizer.
3. Apply sufficient base fertilizer
On the basis of applying farmyard manure, the amount of chemical fertilizer applied must not be small either. Phosphate fertilizer can promote the formation of protein and improve water-holding capacity, while potassium fertilizer can improve the sugar metabolism of the crop, increase the bound water content of the plant and maintain normal photosynthesis. Insufficient nitrogen is also unfavorable for drought resistance, so nitrogen fertilizer should be applied rationally.
4. Apply more foliar fertilizer
Spraying soybean foliar fertilizer in good time can supplement the soybean's need for trace elements. Among the trace elements, boron and copper help the soybean's drought resistance, can enhance the soybean's stress resistance, promote the growth of the soybean root system and prevent premature aging. The amino acids in foliar fertilizer can be directly absorbed and utilized by soybeans, increasing the soybean's nutrient intake.
5. Pay attention to disease and pest prevention
The main insect pests of soybeans include aphids, pod borers and so on. The diseases of soybeans include: viral disease, gray leaf spot, downy mildew and so on. Observe carefully, detect and treat diseases and pests early, and keep diseases and pests under control in the early stage of outbreak, so as to reduce the harm to soybeans and ensure stable and high yields.
