I. Approval Number

Su Shen Dou 200601

II. Variety Source and Type

Originally named "Dongxin 2002", it is a medium-maturity summer soybean variety for the Huaibei region, developed in 2001 by the Jiangsu Province Lianyungang State Farm Agricultural Science Research Institute through hybridization of A95-10/Sidou 11.

III. Suitable Range

Suitable for cultivation as summer soybean in the Huaibei region of Jiangsu Province.

IV. Yield Level and Characteristics

In 2003-2004, it participated in the Jiangsu Province Huaibei summer soybean regional trial, with a two-year average yield of 179.0 kg per mu, an increase of 7.6% over the control. In 2005, it participated in the Huaibei summer soybean production trial, with an average yield of 172.2 kg per mu, an increase of 8.5% over the control. The growth period is 109 days, plant height 78.5 cm, branching 2.0, main stem node number 15.2, pods per plant 29.8, seeds per pod 1.9, and 100-seed weight 28.6 g.

Semi-determinate podding habit, white flowers, brown pubescence, ovate leaves. Seeds are oval, seed coat yellow, slightly glossy, hilum light black, seeds large, good market quality. At maturity, leaves drop freely and pods do not shatter. Field occurrence of soybean mosaic virus disease is relatively light, and lodging resistance is relatively good. Inoculation identification shows high susceptibility to soybean mosaic virus disease, with a disease index of 67. Quality was determined by the Soybean Research Institute of Nanjing Agricultural University and the Food Quality Safety and Testing Research Center of the Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences: two-year average protein 38.7%, fat 21.9%.

V. Key Points of Cultivation Technology

1. Crop rotation. Select fields where no legume crops were planted in the previous two seasons.

2. Sowing time. Sowing can be done from late May to late June, with a seeding rate of about 7 kg per mu.

3. Cultivation density. For sowing before early June, maintain about 15,000 plants per mu; for sowing in mid-to-late June, maintain 18,000-20,000 plants per mu.

4. Fertilizer and water management. Before sowing, apply 5 kg of diammonium phosphate per mu; for fields with weak growth, apply 3 kg of pure nitrogen per mu at full bloom; for fields with vigorous growth, apply 2.5 kg of pure nitrogen per mu at the final flowering stage. If drought occurs during the flowering and podding stage, irrigate promptly to resist drought.

5. Chemical regulation. For fields with medium fertility or above and for high-yield cultivation, chemical regulation should be carried out at the early flowering stage according to climate and growth conditions; generally use 20-40 g of 15% paclobutrazol per mu, diluted with 30-50 kg of water, and spray evenly.

6. Control of diseases, insects and weeds. Before sowing, use soil insecticide mixed with poisoned soil and plow it into the soil to control underground pests. After sowing and before emergence, spray herbicide promptly to control weeds, and control diseases and insect pests promptly.
