The high-temperature mushroom "Xiagu 93" is the first high-temperature-type four-spore mushroom variety suitable for summer cultivation in China, bred in 1993 by researchers at the Horticulture Institute of the Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences through research efforts, originally named "Zhe AGh-1". This variety fills the gap in summer mushroom cultivation varieties in China. The fruiting period of the high-temperature mushroom coincides with the off-season for various edible mushrooms, when fresh mushroom supply is interrupted, and prices are 3 to 5 times higher than in peak season. It has been promoted in more than 20 provinces and cities including Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Fujian, Guangdong, and **. This variety passed variety certification in April 2000.

Based on the climatic conditions of our city, the Shengzhou Agricultural Science Institute introduced this variety for trial cultivation in 1999. The high-temperature mushroom ~ autumn mushroom cultivation model realized the dream of "two mushroom seasons per year from one mushroom house". The main characteristics are as follows:

1. High temperature tolerance: the suitable temperature for mycelium is 24°C to 36°C, with the optimum at 27°C to 28°C; the suitable fruiting temperature is 25°C to 34°C, with the optimum fruiting temperature at 27°C to 32°C. It can continue to grow at 38°C and can tolerate high temperatures of 40°C.

2. High yield: single yield 7.5 to 15 kg per sq m.

3. Good mushroom quality: the mushrooms are round and neat in shape, pure white, delicious in taste, not prone to discoloration, and tolerant of storage and transport. According to trial sales by foreign merchants, they can be kept fresh under refrigeration for more than 8 days.

4. Wide source of raw materials, simple cultivation, and low investment: the main raw material is rice and wheat straw.

5. Cultivation is largely the same as for the button mushroom (Agaricus bisporus). Existing mushroom houses and greenhouses can be used for cultivation during the summer idle period, or cultivated in soil under medium-sized tunnels.
