Mushrooms can achieve increased yield with traditional fertilization methods
To achieve high mushroom yields, appropriate supplementary fertilization is essential. Based on years of practical experience by mushroom growers in many places, the following nine traditional fertilization methods have proven to have excellent yield-increasing effects. Mushroom growers are encouraged to try them in practice.
Applying mushroom soup. Collect mushroom stems and broken mushrooms left over from harvesting and processing, wash them clean, cut them into thin slices, add 1--1.5 kg of water per kg of material, boil for 15 minutes, take the filtrate and dilute with water to 10--15 kg, and spray on mushroom beds of 30--40 sq m. Using this during the peak fruiting period can make the fruiting bodies plump and thick and extend the peak fruiting period.
Applying manure soil fertilizer. Dry pig manure and cow manure in the sun, crush them, pre-soak with lime solution and pile for 15 days, then add 5% fertile soil by manure weight and a small amount of plant ash, mix well, clean the bed surface at fruiting time, cut off old roots, and scatter by hand on the bed surface. This can increase yield and income.
Applying cow manure and urine. Take fresh cow manure and urine, boil until bubbles disappear, dilute with 7--8 times clean water, spray once every 2--3 days, until the bed surface is moist. If there are small mushrooms on the bed surface, spray once more with clean water after application. This can promote the growth of small mushrooms.
Spraying plant ash. Soak 25 kg of plant ash in 50 kg of water, filter and spray. This can prevent mushrooms from turning red.
Spraying chemical fertilizer solution. Use 0.1%--0.2% urea solution, spray once every 2--3 days, until the bed surface is moist. It has the effect of making fruiting bodies plumper and thicker during the mid-to-late fruiting stage. Alternatively, dissolve 0.5 kg of superphosphate in 15 kg of water, take the filtrate, add 50 g of ammonium bicarbonate, and spray on the bed surface. This can make mushroom bodies plump and thick and increase yield by 15%--20%.
Spraying salt water. Use 0.5 kg of salt, add 50 kg of water, and spray during the peak fruiting period. This can make mushroom bodies pure white.
Spraying soybean milk. Take 2 kg of soybeans, soak in water until soft, grind into a slurry, filter out the residue, add 80 kg of water, and spray on mushroom beds of 80--100 sq m. This can promote small mushrooms to grow thick and pure white.
Spraying glucose water. Use 1 kg of glucose powder, add 100 kg of water, and spray.
Spraying carrot juice. Take 10 kg of carrots, chop them, add 15 kg of water, boil for 15 minutes, filter to get the juice, dilute with 40 times water, and spray on mushroom beds of 300--400 sq m. This can increase mushroom yield by 10%--15%.
