Soybean yield-boosting secrets: master these methods for higher yields

To increase soybean yields, besides choosing excellent varieties, improving the nitrogen-fixing capacity of nitrogen-fixing bacteria, and controlling pests and diseases well, the following four measures can also be taken: 1. Pinching the seedlings. The specific method is: after the two cotyledons of the soybean have formed, remove all the unexpanded true leaves at the top. In this way, "double main branches" can emerge. After the two true leaves have formed, remove all the unexpanded compound leaves at the top, so that nutrients are concentrated on the new main branches, accelerating the individual cell division of the plant, promoting thick and strong soybean stems, luxuriant branches and leaves, and pods

To increase soybean yields, besides choosing excellent varieties, improving the nitrogen-fixing capacity of nitrogen-fixing bacteria, and controlling pests and diseases well, the following four measures can also be taken:

1. Pinching the seedlings. The specific method is: after the two cotyledons of the soybean have formed, remove all the unexpanded true leaves at the top. In this way, "double main branches" can emerge. After the two true leaves have formed, remove all the unexpanded compound leaves at the top, so that nutrients are concentrated on the new main branches, accelerating the individual cell division of the plant, promoting thick and strong soybean stems, luxuriant branches and leaves, more pods, and increased dry matter accumulation.

2. Apply lime skillfully. Calcium is one of the indispensable elements for the growth and development of soybeans. Applying lime with a high calcium content can make soybean stems and leaves grow robustly, increase the seed-setting rate and increase grain weight. Generally, apply 25 kg of lime per mu. 30 kg as base fertilizer.

3. Spray phosphorus and potassium. Topdressing phosphorus and potassium fertilizer outside the roots can promote full grains and increase yield. The topdressing time is generally from soybean flowering to pod-setting stage. The method is to apply 100 g of potassium dihydrogen phosphate per mu, dilute with 70 kg to 80 kg of water and spray evenly. If the leaf color is too yellow, add 0.5 kg of urea per mu and spray evenly, spraying once every 5 days to 7 days, and spraying 2 times to 3 times continuously is sufficient.

4. Inhibit respiration. When soybeans begin to flower, use 4 g to 5 g of sodium bisulfite per mu each time, dilute with 50 kg of water and spray, spraying once every 7 days, and spraying 2 times to 3 times continuously, which can inhibit the intensity of soybean photorespiration, reduce the consumption of photosynthetic products, thereby promoting the accumulation of dry matter and increasing yield. However, three points should be noted when adopting this measure: first, this measure is only suitable for early and medium-maturing soybean varieties and fields with good growth; second, in dry conditions, water first, then spray the pesticide; third, the spraying should be even to ensure that all leaves are covered with the liquid. If rain occurs within 12 hours after spraying, wait until the rain stops and then spray again.
