Detailed introduction to the elite soybean variety Guixia No. 3
Approval number: Gui Shen Dou 2007001
Variety name: Guixia No. 3
Breeding unit: Maize Research Institute of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region
Variety source: Gui M32 was developed by using the Guangxi local variety "Jingxi Qingpidou" as the female parent and Wuming Black Soybean as the male parent, through sexual hybridization and crossing, followed by the bulk selection method.
Characteristics: growth period 108 days, a medium-maturing variety, determinate podding habit, plant height 59.9 cm, medium-tall, main stem 14.7 nodes, 2.5 branches, 43.7 pods per plant, 78.8 seeds per plant, 11.1 g seed weight per plant, 100-seed weight 17.6 g. Oval leaves, medium-sized, pubescence relatively sparse, appressed, purple flowers, brown pubescence, pods brown, relatively large, seeds oval, seed coat green and glossy, seeds relatively large, hilum light brown. This variety has good leaf drop, strong adaptability, and resistance to lodging. According to analysis by the Grain Quality Supervision, Inspection and Testing Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, crude protein 43.63%, crude fat 20.11%.
Yield performance: From 2003 to 2005, it participated in and passed the seventh-cycle summer soybean regional trial in Guangxi, with a three-year average yield of 139.16 kg per mu, an increase of 6.4% over the control Guixia No. 1.
Key cultivation techniques: For pure stands, the density per mu should be 13,000-18,000 plants, and for intercropping or relay intercropping about 10,000 plants per mu is suitable. Cultivate and weed, earth up, and apply seedling fertilizer as a topdressing: generally apply 5 kg urea + 10 kg potassium chloride per mu, or 5 kg urea + 15 kg compound fertilizer. If plant growth is poor, apply another topdressing at the flowering and podding stage.
Approval opinion: After review, this variety meets the Guangxi soybean variety approval standards and has passed approval. It can be planted as a summer soybean throughout the region.
