Detailed Guide to Mushroom Cultivation with Straw: Quality Mushrooms Can Also Be Grown from Waste Straw
The button mushroom (Agaricus bisporus) is currently the most widely artificially cultivated edible fungus.
Section 1: Raw Materials and Their Formulas
I. Raw Materials. The main raw materials for cultivating mushrooms are crop straws (such as rice straw, wheat straw, corn stalks, rapeseed stalks, etc.), by-products of agricultural product processing, wild grasses, and poultry and livestock manure, etc. In addition, a certain amount of mineral elements is added.
II. Formula. (Based on 0.25 mu of planting area and 1,000 sq ft of net sowing as the unit of measurement.)
In the case where no urea is used, it can be replaced by 60 jin of compound fertilizer with N, P, K at 15-15-15, or 120 jin of compound fertilizer with N, P, K at 13-5-7.
Section 2: Composting and Fermentation
1. Composting time: At the latest, it should be before September 10. After the rice harvest, promptly make use of sunny days to dry the rice straw, and build the compost pile as quickly and as early as possible.
2. Composting method: Build the pile in the paddy field chosen for suitable mushroom cultivation. The pile should be 2 m wide and 1.5 m high, with no limit on length. Generally, the material for 100 bottles of spawn can be piled to a length of about 8-9 m.
Technical requirements: The rice straw must be dry; moldy or rotten rice straw should not be used for composting. On the day before building the pile, the rice straw should be fully pre-moistened. Before building the pile, the mushroom special fertilizer, oil cake, urea, etc. should be mixed evenly.
Pay close attention: Urea must not be mixed with lime. When building the pile, first spread a layer of rice straw and break up the straw clumps, then splash on manure water, and then sprinkle on the ingredients (auxiliary materials). The thickness of each layer of rice straw is 15-20
