What are the reasons for the recent surge of yellow mushrooms?
Recently, many mushroom growers have called in, saying that the edible fungi they cultivated have shown yellowing and death, and they do not know the cause. After investigation, the author believes that the following aspects can be provided as reference for mushroom growers.
1. The disease types occurring recently are mostly brown rot, brown spot, yellow spot, etc.
The pathogens are Mycogone perniciosa, Verticillium, Cladobotryum varium, etc. These pathogens have strong survivability, tolerate low temperatures, and prefer high humidity. They can grow normally at around 10°C, and are common pathogens from late autumn to early spring.
2. Causes of the disease.
The main cause is improper management during the low-temperature season. During the low-temperature season, the humidity inside the mushroom shed may be too high, watering may be excessive, and too much free water adheres to the mushroom bodies. After absorbing water, it cannot evaporate, which weakens the metabolism of the mushroom bodies, causing various pathogens to take advantage of the opportunity and multiply in large numbers, thereby triggering various diseases of the fruiting bodies. The second cause is the continuous low-temperature weather some time ago, which made the temperature inside the mushroom shed too low. The edible fungi fruiting bodies were in a poor living environment for a long time, leading to disease. The third cause is that some edible fungi varieties are in their 3rd to 4th flush during the fruiting period, and the nutrient supply in the bags is insufficient. The fruiting bodies after pinning cannot receive adequate nutrient supply, resulting in yellowing and death.
3. The control methods are as follows:
First, various fungicides should be sprayed frequently in the fruiting shed, such as Junjuesha, Xijunsha, Mogu Qubingwang, Kemeiling, etc., generally once a week. Second, when the temperature in the mushroom shed is too low, do not spray too much water; the humidity should be kept at a level that ensures normal growth of the fruiting bodies. Third, try to raise the temperature in the mushroom shed. For oyster mushrooms, the shed temperature during the day is best kept above 15°C. Fourth, correctly understand the temperature type and normal growth temperature of each variety, so that management can be targeted and correct. Fifth, frequently spray various disease-resistant and yield-increasing agents on the mushroom bodies, such as Gufeng No. 1, Guangda Junwang, Lixin Junwang, Sanwei Yingyangjing, Guweishi, Guduosheng, etc. Sixth, once disease occurs, spray Xijunsha, Junjuesha, Mogu Qubingwang, Guweishi, Guangda Junwang, Lixin Junwang, etc. for comprehensive control.
